Chessington is a family park and I can see it staying that way, plus it does have some unique-ish rides there and from what I have seen, it has good theming.
I'm saying if they catered for teens aswell, Chessington would be so much better, kids these days I read, dont read the Beano comics and such and are not really interested in the cartoon fantasy, they rather prefer adventure within reality, so DF was a great idea.
Chessington is underachieving, they have got some sort of potential but needs to re-think its ideas for the future if it isnt going to slump.

Chessington, though, strived to embarrass all other flumes, not with never seen before trickery, but by providing riders with a satisfying medley of drops and meandering.

Chessington World of Adventures - Review - Chessington for the under 5s
Most of the current ops on Chessington focus on the major rides, but this op is based upon the user - friendliness and suitability of the park to those with young families.
So there are actually a good number of rides they could both go on, and with the park being empty they could stay on the rides for several goes in a row so they both enjoyed the rides.
From my memories Chessington started off as a zoo with a few rides, the zoo area has shrunk but they’ve still got Lions, Tigers, Gorillas, Monkeys, Penguins, Sealions, creepy crawlies and an aviary.
