Searchers Trilogy by Chet Williamson (Book Review, Skeptical Briefs June 2000)   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-08)
Williamson's series, in an attempt to sell books, does have unexplainable elements and characters that have extraordinary "powers." In his letter, Williamson points out that this is what the editors wanted when he made the deal with them.
He was also able to add the skeptical elements to these fictional works, and the works are therefore unlike other works that are entirely "pro-paranormal." I do not have a problem with Williamson's series as fiction that tries to teach skeptical principles and skepticism, and that skepticism is a good thing.
This works because Williamson is able to examine all types of phenomena, and to show how they would be investigated or how they were investigated in the past, what to look for while investigating these phenomena, and many of the false assumptions people can make while examining the evidence.

Second Chance by Chet Williamson   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-08)
Williamson crafted it just right and made the unbelievable seem possible.
Its the story of a group of friends who recreate the sixties during a party and wind up going back in time to save the lives of two friends who died in a bombing.
Williamson has created a group of very believable, very real characters, and it's very easy to get swept up in the events which soon surround them and the choices they eventually must make.

 Figures in Rain
In 1981, Chet Williamson's first professionally published story, 'Offices', appeared in the magazine Twilight Zone; and unbeknownst to many, a major talent had been unleashed in the world of supernatural fiction.
Figures in Rain is the first collection of Chet Williamson's tales of the uneasy, the macabre, and the horrific.
No two Chet Williamson stories are alike; and the characters who inhabit them are all too recognisable as living, breathing people who sometimes stumble across the boundary between our existence and that of something darker, and who do not always have the tools to cope with what they find there.

I like Chet Williamson and I trust him as a writer.
While some of the material printed here mentions similarities to The X-Files (and sorry, Chet, there are some interesting parallels), what weakens this novel is some shoddy character development and an overbaked plot that tries to throw in everything but the kitchen sink.
Chet wanted to make it like X-files, and he did it spectacularly.

Chet Williamson, Pennsylvania Dutch Night Before Christmas   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-08)
Chet Williamson leaves behind his usual, somewhat creepier subject matter for Pennsylvania Dutch Night Before Christmas, a charming and loving look at both the classic Christmas poem and the Pennsylvania Dutch country where he makes his home.
Just as in Clement C. Moore's "A Visit From St. Nicholas," a family is settling down to sleep on Christmas Eve.
Certainly those with a Pennsylvania Dutch background will get the most out of Pennsylvania Dutch Night Before Christmas but between Williamson's rolling text and Rice's entrancing illustrations, it's a sure bet that any listener won't even think about rutsching around!
