Chhattisgarhi is a (A systematic means of communicating by the use of sounds or conventional symbols) language of (A republic in the Asian subcontinent in southern Asia; second most populous country in the world; achieved independence from the United Kingdom in 1947) India.
According to the Indian Government, Chhattisgarhi an eastern (The usage or vocabulary that is characteristic of a specific group of people) dialect of Hindi, although it is widely considered by linguists to be distinct enough from Hindi to constitute a separate language.
Chhattisgarhi cultural and political movements, with origins going back the 1920's, affirmed Chhattisgarhi cultural and linguistic identity and sought greater autonomy within India, which came about in 2000 when 16 districts of the state of Madhya Pradesh became the new state of (additional info and facts about Chhattisgarh) Chhattisgarh.

The main language of Chhattisgarh is Chhattisgarhi but in Bastar, Halbi is more popular.
Similarly the Chhattisgarhi of Bilaspur region is different from that of Raipur.
I can speak and understand Chhattisgarhi but it is very hard for me to understand Halbi.

I have noted during my studies on flora, that in reference literatures, it is very hard to get the local names of herbs in the area surveyed.
