All eyes would be fixed on the Chhindwara Parliamentary constituency in the upcoming elections as the electoral battle would be fought this time for this prestigious seat between the senior Congress leader, Kamal Nath, and the Union Minister for Coal, Prahlad Patel.
Advani had echoed the same message when he said that the Congress, which had ruled for more than 45 years since Independence, was solely responsible for the scourge of hunger and poverty as well as lack of roads and basic facilities in the rural areas.
The Union Minister and BJP candidate in Chhindwara, Prahlad Patel, who has moved out of Balaghat to contest this seat, said that the Gondwana Gantantra Party, which would also be contesting this seat, would be banking heavily on the Gond votes.

CHHINDWARA, February 2: The Chhindwara constituency of Madhya Pradesh is all set to witness a keen contest between the Congress and BJP in the Lok Sabha election on February 22.

Nagpur which appears as one single city is in fact a twin city strategically planned by different rulers in different periods.
The present Nagpur was occupied by 12 small hamlets known by the name of "Rajpur Barsa" till 1686 A.D. The inhabitants were primarily Gonds and Adivasis in the wooden fort on the hills at Deogarh about 30 miles from present Chhindwara.
