I visit Chiang Mai quite often and one of the most dreadful aspects of the traffic there are the seemingly endless streams of smelly, traffic obstructing red songthaew.
For Chiang Mai's aesthetics, traffic, air quality, and health of the visitors and residents, it seems to me that a giant step would be the total phase out of the red songthaew.
