The Former Chicago Historical Society Building is the official name of a historic landmark located on the northwest corner of Dearborn and Ontario streets in downtown Chicago.
It is factual that the Chicago Historical Society ceased to use the building as a museum in 1931.
Chicago attracts people from all over the nation to visit Vision, when internationally well-known DJs such as Armin van Buuren or James Holden play live sets at the venue.

Race had intended to become a gentleman farmer, but his land was so close to the Chicago and North Western railroad, he realized there would be more profit in beginning a settlement.
Although annexation of Irving Park into the city of Chicago as part of Jefferson Township occurred in 1889, in the 1890s streets were still unpaved and unlighted.
Irving Park's population grew from 49,489 in 1980 to 58,643 in 2000.

And the CTA even had to approve blockage of one of its bus turnarounds so that Car 1 could be placed securely inside of the Historical Society's complex at Clark Street and North Avenue.

Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly, the stars of Chicago's Murderess Row, were based on Beulah Annan and Belva Gaertner, two real-life women who faced trial in 1924 for killing their respective lovers.
Maurine Watkins, who wrote the play which was the basis for the musical and movie versions of Chicago, wrote about Gaertner and Annan for the Chicago Tribune and then used their stories as the basis for her playwriting.
That was the summer of 1924, and all three women were soon to be overshadowed by the trial of Nathan Leopold and Nathan Loeb, two young men at the University of Chicago who had killed Billy Franks in one of the first cases to be considered a trial of the century.

How the one remaining plate got to Chicago is an interesting story in itself -- a story that is consistent with physical evidence (to be discussed later) that this plate is indeed one of the original Kinderhook plates brought to Nauvoo in 1843.
The Chicago Historical Society received one of the plates in 1920 as a gift from Charles F. Gunther, a noted collector of historical artifacts.
He secured permission from the Chicago Historical Society to bring the plate to BYU for exhaustive non-destructive testing -- that is, analytical tests not involving actual damage to the plate.
