The Chicago Skyliners have periodic open dates available for private parties, dances, jazz concerts, festivals, and special events.

There is an interlocking pool of musicians that seem to staff many of the Chicago big bands, it's the same way in every city.
But this band is a little different, Bill has put them to work a little more often, provided fine music that requires a high level of musicianship and inspired them to produce a great modern band sound.

Representatives of the Chicago Skyliners had a verbal agreement to play their second season at the newly-renovated Pavillion at the University of Illinois at Chicago two weeks ago, but postponed a meeting to finalize the deal and left the University wondering.
Newman said the Skyliners' first three scheduled home games, including the home opener Thursday night against Detroit, and games January 13th against Indiana and January 15th against Southern California, have been postponed and will be made up at a later date.

I suspect that one reason Chicago has so many teams is that for many years, they were the headquarters for the ISI and almost every rink had a viable team.
But still it is much worse than chicago where all the teams are much closer, me might have a good amount of teams in MA but in order to get to them you have to drive long distances.
I wish that OUR family had moved to Chicago instead of 80 miles away from Chicago when our children were young--it's my biggest regret about skating and I always tell young parents to go while their children are young if they have the chance.

I have always wondered about loyalty to a club and if there are teams close in proximity, then what are the numbers and reasons that skaters would switch, other than the other club has different skating levels.
Chicago Blades no longer exist, they were a part of the Windy City FSC before we changed all of our teams' names to Chicago Skates.
i live in the suberbs of chicago, and its true, there are a bunch of powerhouse clubs either established or up-and-coming in our area, but jsut because they are all sucessful doesnt mean they are all run the same way.

With the reintroduction of the ABA, I have become a die-hard fan of the Chicago Skyliners and the league in general (with a special shout out to the Indiana Legends as another favorite).
I have appeared at several Skyliners games to perform the National Anthem and recently had the honor of filling in as the play-by-play announcer for the March 26, 2001 game between the Chicago Skyliners and the Tampa Bay Thunder Dawgs.
I have performed in all of these cities and based on the fans I have met in each location, I know there is an audience that would love these teams once they give them the chance.
