 The Chicago Intellectual Property Colloquim Spring 2003
Chicago-Kent College of Law and Loyola University Chicago School of Law jointly sponsor and host the Chicago Intellectual Property Colloquium.
Each year, during the Spring academic semester, Chicago-Kent and Loyola invite six nationally renowned intellectual property scholars to Chicago to present and discuss their current research projects before intellectual property faculty from Chicago-area law schools, prominent intellectual property practitioners, and selected students from Chicago-Kent and Loyola (" Chicago IP Colloquium Fellows ").
Student Fellows meet with Colloquium Faculty from Chicago-Kent and Loyola one week before each presentation to discuss the draft paper that the invited scholar will present.

 Projects - Rule of Law Through Technology
Dean Charles Rudnick is the Assistant Dean for International Law and Policy at Chicago-Kent College of Law.
The core of the assessment team consisted of three Chicago-Kent College of Law staff members, two local consultants in Albania, and two special advisors.
Dean Perritt is the author of more than 45 law review articles and 15 books on technology and law and employment law, including the 730-page Law and the Information Superhighway.

 Robert Sengstacke Abbott-The Chicago Defender
He received a law degree from Kent College of Law, Chicago in 1898, but because of race prejudice in the United States was unable to practice, despite attempts to establish law offices in Gary, Indiana, Topeka, Kansas, and Chicago, Illinois.
In 1905 he founded The Chicago Defender with an initial investment of 25 cents.
The Defender, which was once heralded as "e;The World's Greatest Weekly"e;, soon became the most widely circulated black newspaper in the country, and made Abbott one of the first self-made millionaires of African American descent.

Ambassador Bushati's endorsement came in a meeting today with Charles S. Rudnick, Chicago-Kent's assistant dean for international law and policy development, and Stuart P. Ingis and John Scheib, two Washington-area lawyers affiliated with Operation Kosovo.
Dean Rudnick and two IIT students will go to Albania next month to determine what types of technology will be effective in linking the refugee camps and refugee organizations to the Internet.

Abbott was formally educated at the Hampton Institute in Virginia and Kent College of Law; however, Abbott’s law career was never established due to his inability to pass the bar examination (136).
The Chicago Defender bravely reported violence across the South in a manner that drew attention to the evils rooted within the act and refused to compromise the integrity of the paper by downplaying the incidents like white publications and other black publications of the time.

Henry H. Perritt, Jr., a nationally recognized expert in information technology law, is the new dean of Chicago-Kent and vice president of IIT’s Downtown Campus.
As he had at Villanova, Dean Perritt continues to lead Project Bosnia, an effort to develop an Internet-based legal information infrastructure for Bosnia as a way of accelerating a return to the rule of law.
Perritt had previously been a member of the faculty of Villanova University’s School of Law.
