For Dixon, this will mark his first race at Chicagoland and he still must get past Penske's Brazilian tandem of Castroneves and de Ferran, who won the Indianapolis 500 in May and will retire after the season.
In Penske's debut at Chicagoland last season, Castroneves was part of the lead pack all the way to the finish but early on de Ferran crashed hard going into turn two and had to be airlifted to a hospital.

JOLIET, Ill. - NASCAR Chairman Brian France says he doesn't think Martinsville Speedway is in jeopardy of losing a race soon, that an announcement on a New York site could be made in the next month and that Chicago is a strong candidate for a second Nextel Cup race.
Because International Speedway Corp. purchased Martinsville in May, it will decide what to do with the track's dates and then submit its request to NASCAR for approval.
During a conference call last week with analysts, International Speedway Corp. officials said they might be ready to buy land in New York by the end of this year or early next year.
