"Chicheley is a small Parish, situated about two miles and a half north-east of Newport Pagnell; having for its boundaries, Sherington on the North; Astwood and Crawley on the East; Newport Pagnell on the South; and Tyringham and Lathbury on the West.
War memorials in Chicheley have been transcribed by Peter Quick, and published in a booklet entitled "War Memorials and War Graves: Newport Hundred, Volume 1", available from the Buckinghamshire Genealogical Society.
In the earliest government census of 1801, there were 189 inhabitants in 39 families living in 39 houses recorded in Chicheley.

In due course, by marital descent, Chicheley Hall came to Sir Charles Bagot Chester and - amidst much litigation - all of his interests in Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire, by his will of 1755, were alienated to Charles Bagot, on the condition that he assumed the name and arms of Chester.
In 1952, Chicheley Hall passed from the Chester descendants to the second Earl Beatty, the son of the World War One naval hero David Beatty and appropriate memorabilia, commemmorating his career, came to placed in the Hall.

Henry Chicheley, archbishop of Canterbury, who was born at Higham Ferrers, founded here a college for eight secular canons or chaplains, eight clerks, and six choristers, in the year 1422.
One of the eight chaplains was to be master and responsible for the rule and governance of the college, one of the chaplains or clerks should be grammar-master, and another quire-master.
The house seems to have been intended more for those in reduced circumstances, with no one to care for them, than for those only in great poverty; for men of moderate means were admitted on condition that they should after death bestow their land or tenements freely on the hospital for ever.

On 20th March 1900 the minutes read "that the District Surveyor's attention be called to the poor state of the footpaths in the village".
Before the building of the Newport Pagnell by-pass, the main route from the top of Chicheley Hill to Olney was down the Bedford Road past the (now) garden centre, left down Crofts End to School Lane, along School Lane to Church End and then along Gun Lane to the junction with the Olney Road.
There was evidently some confusion for travellers if they came to the Church End junction with Church Road for in April 1914 the Council asked the RDC to erect at the junction a finger post showing the direction to Olney and Bedford.
