The Chief Minister of Montserrat is the head of government of Montserrat, an island in the Caribbean which is currently an overseas territory of the United Kingdom.
(Queen Elizabeth II is represented by the Governor of Montserrat.) The current Chief Minister of Montserrat is Lowell Lewis of the Montserrat Democratic Party.
The chief minister is appointed by the governor from among the members of the Legislative Council.

MONTSERRAT (AP): Montserrat is asking Britain for permission to join the 14 other members of the Caribbean Community in establishing a regional appellate court and single market economy.
The British island is the only member of the regional organisation that has not signed protocols for the court and economic bloc, Montserrat's chief minister, John Osborne, said during talks with British and Caribbean officials that began Tuesday and were continuing Wednesday.
Montserrat is the only non-sove-reign territory in the Guyana-based Caribbean Community ­ also known as CARICOM ­ and was among the original 13 members who joined together in 1974 to lobby internationally.

MONTSERRAT'S Chief Minister, Bertrand Osborne, resigned last night after mounting criticism of his handling of the volcano crisis and over his negotiations with Britain for compensation for islanders wanting to leave.
The deal falls short of the demands made by the Montserrat administration, but ministers in London believe that it will be sufficient to enable local people to decide whether to stay on the island or make a new life elsewhere.
The chief minister announced his intention to quit - leaving the island without any effective political leader - only a few hours after a noisy demonstration at his makeshift office on the northern end of Montserrat.
