Jharkhand Mukti Morcha chief Shibu Soren's followers had already been denied access to the gubernatorial residence by gun-toting cops from the central police forces -- not given to any mollycoddling of the aggressive locals.
Not that Marandi was apprehensive of being upstaged by Soren.

The secretariat of the Jharkhand state committee of the CPI(M) adopted a resolution in its meeting on February 3 on the prime minister’s visit to Jharkhand.
The prime minister in his speech did not utter a single word on the revival of closed and sick industries in Jharkhand, for which thousands of unemployed youth are eagerly seeking so as to find employment.
It is obnoxious that the prime minister chose Jharkhand to announce this policy where recently 18 persons died due to hunger at Gola, Lesliganj, Katkamsandi and Kundahit and from where thousands of adivasis and other poor families are migrating in thousands due to hunger and in absence of work.

Jharkhand has for long been demanding that the DVC and CIL headquarters be shifted to Ranchi on the ground that of the 15 districts of the two neighbouring states of Jharkhand and West Bengal covered by the multipurpose DVC project, 10 are located in the former.
The Jharkhand government has accused DVC of double standards, saying it favours West Bengal while neglecting Jharkhand though most of its operational areas are located in Jharkhand.

It deserves to go to every district of Bihar and Jharkhand, where malnutrition levels are among the highest in the country,” he said.

Ranchi - Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda's National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government was Tuesday reduced to a minority after four ministers quit and aligned with the opposition United Progressive Alliance (UPA).
When the news came in that the minister was going to join the rebel ministers, the state police swung into action.
