The first convening of the Coast Guard Chief Warrant Officer Indoctrination course was held in November at the Coast Guard Academy’s new Leadership Development Center in New London, Conn. Twenty-four energetic volunteers from a wide variety of units attended this pilot course.
The four-week course prepared recently appointed chief warrant officers to make the transition from the enlisted work force to the officer corps.
The warrant officers also had the unique opportunity to participate in cosponsored activities with first class cadets (seniors), including evening social events, lunches and classroom talks.
