		Although Minucci is considered by many to be a smooth jazz practitioner, his style is reminiscent of a more contemporary approach.
		This latest release is Chieli Minucci's sixth solo effort and his 23rd recording as a professional.
		Chieli describes the song as "one of his dad's most beautiful melodies, one that is a true bridges between the old and the new." In retrospect, Chieli's father is an inspiration to him and has guided his forethought and creativity through many of his compositions.

		The scene: Chieli Minucci & the late George Jinda first meet during a series of jam sessions.
		Minucci launched his solo career while Jinda was involved with several varied projects including the release an additional Special EFX's cd, the only one on which Minucci did not play.

		Chieli next performed a rendition of the Stevie Wonder song, “Cause We’ve Ended as Lovers.” (Renaissance) When I heard him play this for the first time a year or two ago, I thought that his playing was so soulful that you could almost hear the anguish that the title of the song implies.

		Here are some of the highlights: After the winter shows with Marion Meadows, Chieli Minucci and F.U. Jazzboy came Smooth Jazz for Scholars third annual benefit concert.
		The most memorable moment for me was the student horn section from Jonathan Law High School along with Darren Litzie from Foran High School on piano performing with Chuck Loeb on his song "Brother Ray".
		Special thanks to Bob Nunno for arranging the horn parts and to Chris Kalafus for his blazing feature teacher guitar duet with Chieli Minucci on the Santana classic "Black Magic Woman".
