4TH LD: Prosecutors get papers on alleged bullies of boy who killed self+
While Keisuke hanged himself later in the day in a shed at his home in Chikuzen, Fukuoka Prefecture, the police determined there was no direct causal relationship between the violent behavior of the five and Keisuke's suicide, saying the incident in the washroom took place after Keisuke made up his mind to commit suicide.
The five students in question, meanwhile, apparently did not play a central role in bullying Keisuke over the years, and the boys were quoted as telling the police that they were not aware that their action in the washroom meant bullying and are repentant at present, the police added.
The Chikuzen board of education set up a panel to investigate the case, which concluded that verbal bullying was one of the biggest reasons for the boy's suicide and held the school responsible for failing to notice the bullying and take appropriate measures.
