Batting first, Chilaw were 33 for 1 after four overs, but Masters got a wicket in each of his first three overs, ending with figures of 4-1-7-3.
With the score 57 for 6 after 10 overs, Chilaw were forced to consolidate, but two straight sixes from captain Hasantha Fernando off Dinesh Mongia gave them a bit of respite.

An illegal trawler boat with around 31 youths on board which attempted to leave for Italy on the sly was seized by the Chilaw Police after one of the engines of the boat had malfunctioned near the Chilaw sea coast yesterday evening.
The Chilaw Police which conducted the investigations said that food stocks had been loaded into the trawler boat to last for at least one month.
The group of youths who made the aborted bid to leave for Italy had hailed from the nearby areas of Bolawatta, Wennappuwa, Daluwakotuwa, Kotchchikade and Thoppuwa and they are said to be in the age category of 18 to 30.

Paddy growers have earned better income by converting many acres of their rice fields to 'Gotu Kola' cultivation in vast areas in Manuwangama, Thissogama, Diganwewa and other villages in the periphery of the Deduru Oya river basin in Chilaw.
The traditional paddy cultivators earn much bigger profits through this industry than by cultivating paddy and they earn steadily on a daily basis as lorries from Kandy and Kurunegala come to their doorsteps to buy this commodity of green vegetables which is in great demand, G. Perera from Manuwanagama said.
These prosperous farmers also sell Gotu Kola bundles to the Chilaw vegetable market vendors as well as other markets in the area.
