This is the first in a series of children's stories about a boy named Chu-Chu Panu.
I don't write children's stories, so my expertise is limited, but you've kept the story simple without sacrificing description.
The only issue I might take with it (as a children's story) is the slightly violent edge - the phrasing seems aimed at fairly younger children, but certain phrases, like "machine-gun fury", as well as scenes like the river becoming Chu-Chu's blood and the ocean screaming and thrashing, might be too disturbing for kids.
