CHILDWALL, a township in West Derby district and a parish in West Derby and Prescot districts, Lancashire.
The manor, with Childwall Hall, belongs to the Marquis of Salisbury.
For probate purposes prior to 1858, Childwall was in the Archdeaconry of Chester, in the Diocese of Chester.

Although Childwall Hall has been covered on part 4 of the Childwall 'Tour', I (the WebMaster) was recently contacted by a member of Lime Productions to ask if I would like to view the area as this was once the 'footprint' of Childwall Hall.
With access from Childwall Woods, the rear of the wall throws up many more puzzles as to why it is there and what it was originally used for.
There is a set of sandstone blocks which form the entrance to the other side of the stable yard and in the background of the first picture, one can see a bricked up doorway leading to the outer wall of the stable yard.

Students, teachers and parents at Childwall Sports College shared their passion for the ‘beautiful game’ this week when they donated £874 to the charity KitAid, along with hundreds of football shirts soon to be worn by their counterparts in some of the poorest parts of the world.
Head Teacher, Dewi Phillips and teachers, Lyn Gilford and Dave Ball from Childwall Sports College handed over the funds raised to KitAid Organiser, Derrick Williams during half-time of the match between Liverpool FC and Birmingham City FC.
Derrick followed this up with a presentation to all of the Year 10 pupils to let them know how their donations will be used.

Childwall Woods and Fields has been named a Local Nature Reserve (LNR) area, the first in the city for 20 years.
The LNR status means that the site will have one of the highest levels of protection from development.
Chairman of the Friends of Childwall Woods and Fields, Shaun Wilson, said: "We are delighted with the recent designation of Childwall Woods and Fields as a Local Nature Reserve, and see it as a vital step in protecting the site for wildlife and future generations."
