Nearby Chimney Rock National Historic Site is preserved by cooperative agreement between the Department of the Interior, the Nebraska State Historical Society, and the City of Bayard, Nebr.
At the foot of the bluff are the scenic badlands and the North Platte River, while the historic North Platte Valley stretches to the horizon east and west.
The badlands are also of exceptional geologic interest as an example of rapid erosion in soft rock beds of comparatively uniform composition.

The entire region around here is dramatic and beautiful, but Chimney Rock really stands out (literally!) The view from the interperative center isn't that much better that the view you'll get from the road, but it's only $2 to get in and there are some interesting displays about life on the westward trails.
Directions: I don't know the 'street' address, but it is in Bayard, NE (69334) It is across the highway from Chimney Rock.

It was the site of a Wright Band and Hotel, the Stockman House and the Rock Crest -- Rock Glen National Historic District, containing six houses by Walter Burley Griffin and house by William Drummond and Barry Byne as well as a Usonian House by Curtis Besinger.
In 1908, while Frank Lloyd Wright was in Mason City planning the construction of his City National Bank and Park Inn Hotel, Dr. George Stockman and his wife, Eleanor, asked Wright to design a four-bedroom home for them.
