		The fall chinook run returning to the Columbia River is projected to total 659,800 fish this year, the third largest return on record.

		The latest change was prompted by a recent spike in returning chinook counts, said Cindy LeFleur, Columbia River harvest manager for the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW).
		The return of upriver bright fall chinook, which had been forecast at 287,000 fish, is now projected to reach 358,000 by the end of the run, Le Fleur said.
