The Park Slope Chip Shop in New York, NY - AOL City Guide
Chip Shop is a sprightly, bright-yellow British-food joint on Park Slope's restaurant row, Fifth Avenue.
This fish-and-chips joint boasts that their french fries (known as "chips" in England; what we think of as "chips," they call "crisps") are the best in the city, but they've become most famous for their dessert menu: They invented the deep-fried Twinkie.
Their signature fish-and-chips, made with either cod or salmon, is a gigantic portion of food: usually two or three pieces of fish as long and wide as a standard envelope, on top of a volcano of fries that are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
