Chislev is still a time of the year when God’s remnant — those who have left Babylon — often suffer “great affliction and reproach.” Because of their refusal to participate in the Christmas festivities, God’s remnant people are viewed by friends and family members with reproach.

This is however a late Alexandrine gloss, trying to clear the apparent contradiction, since Maccabees 2,2 expands on this matter in length giving further examples, all concerning in fact the same festival in the 7th month of the old Hebrew calendar.
These are two different festivals indeed, but what we have to retain is that 124 BC the festival of booths occured (partly) in Chislev.
Because Chislev is a lunar month its position could vary by as much as a month and thus enhance the sliping effect of the calendars.

So it was, when the moment was near that in the dead of winter, on the 25th day of Chislev in the Jewish calendar, an eight-day celebration called the 'Festival of Lights' began.
The Festival of Lights proclaims the cleansing of the temple and its altar by Judas Maccabees in the aftermath of the Old Testament incident on which Daniel's 'Abomination of Desolation' was based.

There is no need to waste time analyzing the OT to point out examples of parallelism, so I will cite just a couple of cases to show what the literary device was.
Zechariah 7:1 says, "And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Darius that the word of Yahweh came to Zechariah in the fourth day of the ninth month, *even in Chislev.*" The ninth month was Chislev, and Chislev was the ninth month.
Psalm 85:1 says, "Yahweh, you have been favorable to your land; you have brought back the captivity of Jacob." The second clause simply repeats the idea of the first but in more specific terms.
