 Chiswick cricket pavillion
Chiswick Railway Station has been acknowledged amongst 22 buildings officially listed during 2002 as structures with special architectural importance.
The station, which was opened in 1849, was designed and built by William Tite for the Windsor, Staines and South Western Railway as an extension of the Richmond Railway.
The building is a wonderful example of the Tite classical villa design first used at Micheldever and Winchester on the London and Southampton Railway in 1838 and afterwards on the Basingstoke and Salisbury Railway in 1854 as at Whitchurch and Andover.

 Dictionary of Australian Biography We-Wy
Webber was ordained deacon in 1860, priest in 1861, and was curate of Chiswick 1860-4 and in charge of the church of St John the Evangelist, Red Lion-square, London, from 1864 to 1885.
Though the population had increased very little there had been a great increase of exports, a steam-service along the coast had been established, the commencement of a railway system had been made, and the number of miles of telegraph line had increased from 12 to 900.
He bought a share in a station property with which he had some success, did some exploring, and in 1848 was offered a seat on a proposed nominee council by the governor, Sir George Grey (q.v.).

 SABRE - Road Lists - Roads by 10 - A205
Shortly after passing Catford’s twin railway stations, we encounter the first of many points on the South Circular where it is necessary to turn off the main road to stay on the required route (a "totso" in SABRE parlance).
However, at the Chiswick roundabout, where it meets the A4 and the North Circular Road, the A205 is signposted without brackets, suggesting that the section between Kew Bridge and the Chiswick roundabout is a "multiplex", with the A205 actually ending in the multiplex section.
This is a very busy road as all the nearby crossings over the railway are on the level, and it is a very busy line.

 Route 4: The Boat Race
To go on to Chiswick and Kew Bridges, turn right, away from the river, and follow the road along the railway embankment to the left.
Keep along the river, passing under the third arch of Chiswick bridge, and then up the steps on the other side on to the bridge.
The route starts and finishes at Putney Bridge tube station, on the District Line (Wimbledon branch), on the 39, 93 and 270 bus, or a 15 minute walk from Putney BR station.

You can watch it from any accessible point along the river, but the best views are probably on the east bank of the Thames (the side which is in Surrey) just north of Chiswick Bridge (near the railway station Mortlake; see: map).
