The comparison of agar media, used with the Isolator(R) system, for the recovery of fungi from blood cultures. We assessed five agar media [Sheep's blood agar (SBA), Chocolate agar (CA), Inhibitory Mold agar (IMA), Brain Heart Infusion agar (BHI) and Sabouraud-Dextrose agar (SDA)], used in conjunction with the Isolator(R) system (Wampole Laboratories, Cranbury, NJ), for the recovery of fungi from blood cultures.
