The primary goal of the African Children’s Choir™ is to raise awareness of the need of destitute and orphaned children in Africa and to raise funds for continued development and support of the Choir’s relief and development programs.
Once Choir members have completed a concert tour, they will return to their homelands with the support, care and education necessary for bettering their future and that of their brothers and sisters.

  The Choir of New College Oxford
The Choir has appeared a number of times at the BBC Proms, and in recent years has performed to audiences in Australia, Brazil, Japan, the Low Countries, France, Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic.
The Choir collaborated with The King’s Consort in its recordings for Hyperion of Handel oratorios and the complete sacred music of Henry Purcell.
In addition to presenting an aural picture of the Choir’s daily function in chapel during the eight weeks of University Term, the recording commemorates the six hundredth anniversary of the death of the College’s founder, William of Wykeham.

The announcement of their award cited their combined contributions during their tenure at the Choir, notably their work on the Olympics, the nurturing of the Orchestra at Temple Square and Temple Square Chorale and national tours as well as their significant contribution to the body of recorded works by the Choir and Orchestra.
A surprise highlight for the Choir was the presentation of the very first “Spirit of the Y Award for Musical Excellence” to the Choir by Bruce Olsen, President Elect of the BYU Alumni Association.
Olsen cited the appropriateness of the Choir being the first recipient of this new award as he presented it to Craig Jessop on behalf of the Choir.
