Choong Tan Fook rencananya akan berpasangan dengan Chew Choon Eng di Kedah Terbuka dan penarikan diri pasangan berpengalaman itu akan membuka persaingan diantara pasangan-pasangan muda di ganda putra.
Choong Tan Fook adalah salah satu dari tiga pemain ganda putra yang memperkuat tim Malaysia yang diumumkan pekan lalu, untuk bertanding di Piala Sudirman yang digelar pada 10-15 Mei.
Jika Choong Tan Fook dipertimbangkan belum siap untuk bertanding di Piala Sudirman, pelatih kepala nasional Malaysia Yap Kim Hock kemungkinan akan memilih Mohd Zakry atau Gan Teik Chai sebagai pengganti.

I personally feel that Choong Tan Fook is a very dedicated player, same goes for Chan/Chew.
Recent news are Park Joo-bong would seek Choong Tan Fook a new partner for the Malaysian Open.
Tan Fook seems to be the more dedicated and skillful player of the duo and has a few years more of good badminton in him.
