Maurizio studied piano first with Carlo Lonati, until the age of 13, then with Carlo Vidusso, until he was 18.
He received a diploma from the Milan Conservatory and won the International Frederick Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw in 1960, after which he studied under Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli.
Regarded as one of the greatest pianists of the day, he is especially noted for his performances of Chopin and modern composers such as Pierre Boulez.

She has won several competitions including the University of Wisconsin-Madison Concerto Competition, the ISU Concerto-Aria Competition, the University of Wisconsin-Madison Beethoven Solo Piano Competition, and the Korean National Piano Competition.
An active solo and collaborative pianist, she played Rachmaninoff's 2nd piano concerto with Mendota Philharmonic Orchestra in 2003 and J. Bach's D minor concerto with Millikin String Arts Ensemble Orchestra in 2004, and is invited to perform a solo recital in one of the very top concert halls in Korea, Youngsan Gracehall in 2006.
Her students have won various competitions including YSO concerto Competition, MAPTA Awards in Madison, and Chopin Competition in Minnesota.

Kosower won the Grand Prize in the Seventh Irving M. Klein International String Competition, the WAMSO Young Artist Competition; the 2000 Juilliard Cello Concerto Competition and a top prize winner in the Seventh Concours Rostropovich where he also was awarded a special prize for best interpretation of the commissioned work.
Mark Kosower holds degrees from Indiana University and an Artist Diploma from The Juilliard School serving as Assistant to Janos Starker at Indiana University and as Joel Krosnick’s Assistant at The Juilliard School.
She was one of three finalists for the Viola Concerto Competition at The Juilliard School.
