Chris was educated at Tonbridge School (1970-1975) and had four years in the cricket XI, before he became a regular member of Kent’s great team of the late 1970’s and was awarded his County Cap in 1979.
Chris was made captain of Kent from 1985-1990 and he was appointed captain of England in 1988.
Chris is renowned for his great humour as a full-time after dinner speaker, and also specializes in teaching public speaking and leadership skills.

Christopher Stuart "Chris" Cowdrey (born 20 October 1957 in Farnborough) is a former English cricketer, and current cricket commentator for the British national radio station, TalkSport.
Replaced by Graham Gooch as captain for the 5th Test, Cowdrey was not reinstated or even selected for the one-off match against Sri Lanka that followed the West Indies series and vented his anger in an interview in The Sun.
Colin and Chris Cowdrey were only the second father and son combination to have both captained England, emulating Frank and George Mann.
