Chris Joannou trades in foodstuffs, cleaning agents and raw materials and equipment for confectioneries, bakeries and the ice cream and chocolate industries.
As part of its bid to list on the stock market, Chris Joannou has issued 25 mln shares with a nominal value of £0,20 each, 3.301.749 of which have been allocated to investors who filed irrevocable applications.

So, one day the guys were requesting songs on the radio and they told Chris to write down "Sliver" (by Nirvana) and "Chair" (Berlin Chair is the full name of the song...by You Am I) and instead, Chris wrote "silverchair"...a band name that would be recognized around the world a few months.

Joannou started TKD in February 1992, having carefully looked at a range of martial arts, and chancing upon TKD after meeting an ex-school friend who was a fl belt studying with the BUTF.
Watching his first TKD class, he was impressed with the quality of the teaching and the explanations given for each movement.
Joannou opened the Croydon School of Tae Kwon-Do for the BUTF.

Grunge trio Silverchair was formed in Newcastle, Australia in 1992 by Ben Gillies (drums), Chris Joannou (bass) and Daniel Johns (guitars and vocals).
Gillies, Joannou and Johns began playing together under the name the Innocent Criminals in Joannou's parents' garage, taking their musical cues from Nirvana and Pearl Jam.
In 1994 they submitted a demo tape to an Australian radio contest and won first prize: a recording session and a video for their song "Tomorrow." The single became a radio hit in Australia and attracted the attention of record label Murmur, a Sony subsidiary, who signed the up-and-coming band.
