Chris Poland (born as Christopher Poland) is a jazz - fusion guitar player.
After leaving Megadeth, Chris was successfully treated for substance abuse and joined punk rock legends The Circle Jerks as a bass player.
Poland also performed a solo on the instrumental title-track on the Lamb of God album Ashes of the Wake that begins at 3:45 and ends at 4:15.

Damn the Machine was a short-lived progressive metal band founded by ex-Megadeth guitarist Chris Poland.
While the group was indeed heavy metal, their sound was slightly more progressive than Poland's previous band, perhaps more comparable to the likes of Queensryche and Fates Warning but with a jazzier twist and politically charged lyrics.
Clemmons later resurfaced in a band called Jud, while Chris Poland became a member of the jazz-rock outfit Ohm with whom he has released a couple of albums.

I was a bit surprised by how metallic this album is. Chris is quite the shredder, and on top of being a great soloist, he is also a good songwriter.

Poland is the real deal and more when it comes to the guitar.
Poland's track on Warmth in the Wilderness (the Jason Becker trib.) was my favorite song on the album, but I haven't heard anything else with him until now.
