Chris Redfern: So everybody is invited, if they want to use the building, and one of my goals, when I became Chair, was to open up the process, open up the building, literally and figuratively.

OHIO Democrats have elected state Rep. Chris Redfern, of Ottawa County, as their new state chairman and, true to form, the choice did not come without a requisite amount of internal strife.
Redfern, a youthful 41-year-old veteran of seven years in the General Assembly, has the drive to succeed in the top party post.
Redfern, a former Ottawa County commissioner, will be the third state Democratic chairman in the past 15 years, a period characterized by the rise of Republican power in Ohio to the point that GOP officials have control of the legislature and all statewide elected offices except a single Supreme Court seat.
