Chris Sprouse - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Chris Sprouse (born in Charlottesville, Virginia on July 30, 1966) is an American comic book artist.
Sprouse then took on the sci-fi series Legionnaires, featuring teenaged versions of the characters in the Legion of Super-Heroes series, and eventually moved on to a number of one-shot and fill-in issues before illustrating a Star Wars miniseries, Splinter of the Mind's Eye, for Dark Horse Comics.
Sprouse was also the penciller on the 2004 Ocean miniseries, written by Warren Ellis and published by DC Comics.

COMICON.com: CHRIS SPROUSE DRAWING IN THE OCEAN
Artist Chris Sprouse said the discovery "could change the way humanity thinks of itself, but its more likely to destroy humanity entirely." Sounds ominous and something you'd expect from writer Warren Ellis.
Sprouse wanted his work in this series to be distinctive from his other projects.

The ABC Preview was polybagged with Wizard magazine and this story (with art by Chris Sprouse) was the actual first appearance of Tom Strong and King Solomon, albeit in a one-page cameo.

Sequential Tart -- A Comics Industry Web Zine
Not having been familiar with Sprouse's work before this, I was pleasantly surprised by the consistency and consideration for clean (VERY clean), readable art.
Chris gives each character recognizable head shapes and individual facial expressions, along with body-language quirks (Grifter flicking his cigarette, Zealot's irritatingly perfect posture, The Weatherman's weary slouch from being summarily beaten by the Aliens) that set this artist apart from the rest.
Which is what makes the balance of Chris and Kevin so surprising: I couldn't tell this was Kevin except in one or two facial expressions and one hallway scene.

Alan Moore and his co-creators, especially penciler Chris Sprouse, are to be congratulated for creating a mythos equal to or greater than the greatest comic book superheroes created in the past six decades.
Chris Sprouse is proven here to be one of the best comics artists alive today.
I don't know if the guest artists such as Gibbons and Adams were a part of the plan all along or were brought in to provide Sprouse with a little breathing room.

Quantum Zone - Behind the Scenes
Chris Sprouse: I had been drawing Supreme with Alan for about six months, and when that went bust, I called him to tell him how much I enjoyed working on that particular book.
Sprouse: In our initial discussions about Tom Strong, Alan asked me what I enjoyed drawing, what I've always wanted to draw, and what my favorite comics were.
Sprouse: Alan writes incredibly dense, detailed full scripts (which are incredibly fun to read--I consider it one of the perks of the job).

The first half, with Chris Sprouse penciling the main narrative and Rick Veitch drawing the flashback stories, are easily the strongest contributions to the book.
Sprouse's pencils (along with Al Gordon's inks) provide a gorgeous iconic look for Supreme, with strong jawlines and regal expressions on faces.
Sprouse has always shown a good eye for page composition, and it's easy to see why Sprouse's "modern classic" style made him Moore's choice as the primary artist for Tom Strong.

Tom Strong Book 2 - Alan Moore, Chris Sprouse, Alan Gordon - Graphic novel review
If, like us, the main thing that bugged you about the first collected Tom Strong book was the supposed comedic support offered by the bickering between Strong's robotic manservant and hyper-intelligent gorilla side-kick, you'll be pleased to hear they take a backseat in this second collection.
The pacing of the book is varied, with some chapters enclosing as many as three independently produced stories (in a Tomorrow Stories sort of way), while others, like the Tom Strange adventure, spans two chapters on its own.
This also allows different artists in on the game, though Chris Sprouse and Alan Gordon still get the lion's share of the work and that's almost certainly for the best, though the vignettes illustrated by the other artists are still of interest.

Korgo challenges President Clinton to a duel for the right to rule the United States; and, when Clinton fails to best him in a physical contest (what would you expect, really?), Korgo claims both the Oval Office and the First Lady as the spoils of conquest.
As Sprouse and Moore depict the scene, however, the President fails to come off as anything other than "ridiculous," as helpless and hopeless as the Oliphant caricature of President George Bush (usually seen carrying a purse).
If nothing here would greatly offend a Clinton partisan, nothing here would alienate his most passionate detractors, either.
