Christ's College is a secondary school in East Finchley, London, United Kingdom.
Christs College has in the past few years become a specialist in Mathematics and Computing school which means that the school receives additional funds for investment in the Mathematics and Computing departments.The school has now changed its headmaster after many years to Mr Gary Tucker.
Famous alumni of the old Christ College include: Richard Desmond founder of Asian Babes and proprietor of the Daily Express, Harry Hooton Australian Poet and Philosopher, Charles John Monro, the man who introduced Rugby Union to New Zealand, Charles Saatchi, Art connoisseur and poster designer.

He immersed himself over head and ears in the study of philosophy, and fell for a time into a scepticism, from which he was delivered by a study of the Platonic writers.
He would not accept the mastership of his college, to which, it is understood, he would have been preferred in 1654, when Cudworth was appointed.
He died on the 1st of September 3687, and was buried in the chapel of the college he loved.

Christ's College was originally established in 1437 by William Byngham, who called his establishment God's House.
In 1505 God's House was re-dedicated as Christ's College under the patronage of Margaret Beaufort, mother of Henry VII.

RICHMOND AND DERBY, MARGARET, COUNTESS OF (1443-1509), mother of the English king, Henry VII., and foundress of St Johns and Christs colleges at Cambridge, was the daughter and heiress of John Beaufort, duke of Somerset, and was born on the 31st of May 1443.
She completed the foundation of Christs College, Cambridge, and after her death, in accordance with her wishes, much of her wealth was devoted to building and endowing St Johns College in the same university.
She survived her son, whose title to the English throne was derived through her, and died on the 29th of June 1509.

His comments came after the County Council's decision-making Executive agreed to fill the funding hole for Christ's College (see seperate release 879/03/EB sent today), as well as providing a guarantee that the money would NOT be taken from the general education budget.
The move not only ensures the future of Christ's College, but also safeguards the budgets of all SGuildford's other schools, which feared they would lose out if the cash was allocated.

 Ralph Cudworth
Cudworth was sent to his fathers college, was elected fellow in 1639, and became a successful tutor.
From the diary of his friend John Worthington we learn that Cudworth was nearly compelled, through poverty, to leave the university, but ih 1654 he was elected master of Christs College, whereupon he married.
He died on the 26th of June x688, and was buried in the chapel of Christs.

The Cashmere Super Youth team took on Christs College on Saturday in a bleak cold and shivery day at Beckenham Stadium.
Crowd attendance was at an all time low with the dedicated parents huddled inside the eaves to shelter from the rain.
A fine solo effort from the Christ's captain saw him run over 60 metres down the flank, cut in and score the clincher.

Many colleges hold an open day (often a special mathematics open day) on the same day, and the idea is that students will visit a college in the morning and then attend the Faculty open day in the afternoon.
The College will supply you with further details of the arrangements for the Faculty Open day, and will give you all the Mathematics Faculty course leaflets, when you arrive.
Note that it is extremely unlikely that accommodation will be available in Colleges (since the open day is in the middle of term).

The recent EU directive on waste electrical and electronic goods including those with hazardous substances (WEEE and RoHS) which take effect from 16 July 2005 now means that computer monitors will be classified as hazardous waste and cannot be disposed of alongside normal waste.
The college is unable therefore to dispose of monitors on behalf of students.
Recycling on the college site (not applicable to graduate hostels): Following a recent meeting of the Green committee I am happy to report that the new paper recycling scheme for members living on the college site is proving to be quite successful so keep up the good work!

He was born on 9 April 1930 in London, where his father, the late Walton Bremner, was training in surgery, and arrived in New Zealand at the age of two.
He was educated at the Normal School and Elmwood Primary School and entered Christs College in 1943, where he was a Junior Somes Scholar.
He was able to attend the 50th reunion of his ‘Class of 53’ in Dunedin in February and his ‘60 years on’ reunion dinner at Christs College in September.
