		Christian metal, also known as white metal is a musical genre that combines the screaming guitars and pounding drums of heavy metal with Christian lyrics.
		Because heavy metal is more often associated with imagery of sex and satanism, this has drawn frequent criticism from within the church.
		However, Christian metal bands have persisted and range in style from overtly evangelistic groups like the earlier incarnations of Stryper (who were known for regularly throwing Bibles into the audience) to those such as King's X who have sought to avoid the label while still demonstrating a strong Christian influence in many of their lyrics.

		Last Tribe isn't labelled as Christian, but the lyrics appear that way to me, and the music is excellent.
		Although not nearly as "Christian" in his songwriting as he'd later become, Phil Keaggy's first band Glass Harp could really be considered the first band to fuse prog rock stylings with spiritual lyrics.
		HM used to be called Heaven's Metal back in the day now they are HM, but they recently started up the mag again to cover metal more in particular instead of hard rock music as a whole.

	Christian Metal Bands/Fans
		Proto metal was based on a blues scale while "true" metal was more chromatic.
		I have (had?) a CD of Barren Cross live and there was a blues song on it.
		All these bands experimented with blues based "proto" metal so that is what I prefer if I am going to listen to metal.
