The third Christian Science church in Salt Lake City was started in 1952 when twelve individuals organized a society to serve the southeastern part of the city and to relieve members of the long drive to the two other churches in the downtown area.
The First Church of Christ, Scientist, Provo, began in 1897 when four persons organized an informal society, which was recognized by the Mother Church in Boston in 1898 and was incorporated according to state law on 29 November 1902.
