		The history of Christian Union dates back to February 3, 1864, when a convention of Christian people of various denominations was held in Columbus, Ohio.
		The object of the convention was to inquire what steps should be taken in order to provide for the religious wants of a larger portion of the people who had become dissatisfied with the sectarian and divisive teachings of the ecclesiastical organizations of the day.
		Each church is to support the Christian Union by sending to State Council Treasurer 10% of their income to support the fiscal budgets of the Christian Union.
