Christian morality, while not denying many of the standards of behaviour which are approved in society, generally looks at the question, "What ought I to do?" from the standpoint of the eternal.
The Christian morality rests on the fact that a changed man can deal with his neighbour in a new way, in which the stern demands of duty are transmuted into occasions of love, and rights are emptied of self.
Christian behaviour is displayed in particular actions, as when the cup of cold water is given: but it is also displayed in the shape of a man's career.
