		Christian punk is a form of Christian alternative music and a subgenre of punk rock with some degree of Christian lyrical content.
		Christian punk bands that target a Christian audience explicitly state their beliefs and use overt Christian imagery in their lyrics may be considered a part of the contemporary Christian music (CCM) industry; some observers would consider this music to fall outside the scope of Christian punk.
		Acceptance of Christian punk is at times challenged both amongst members of the punk subculture and in some Christian churches There are strong elements of anti-authoritarianism in both, such as challenging the uncritical acceptance of social norms in the church and the world.

		When Christians use the term, as with your christmas gathering, it creates a familiar and inviting atmosphere, where 20+ kids would come, expecting "church," and instead get the gospel in a way that in understandable to them.
		Having studied music, pop culture and sociology a bit, the bands mentioned so far have punk-like qualities, but to me are not true punk, because of the message.

		The transition to a Christian life can be tough but I really lost out when it came to music.
		I found some webpage that had a ton of what they called punk bands listed but it was reaaaally bad.
		I believe a bunch of bands came around in the mid-late 90s, riding the coattails of secular success with such sounds, but I was out of the "scene" by then, so MXPX is pretty much all I know about.

		And lets be fair your request was a little more specific than "good Christian bands", you wanted very specific suggestions of Jimmy Eat World and a couple of other secular bands that escape me (but would be fairly hard to imitate) at the moment.
		You can't find any really good punk bands that are Christian, because the ethos of the whole punk schtick ain't terribly edifying.
		You can find Christians who play power chords and holler, but there's a darth of good Christian punk because...the two aren't compatible.
