 Why Do You Observe Sunday
Now the Commandment says: "Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work," just as much as it says "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy." There is just as much command to work six days as there is to rest the seventh.
Many tell us that the Sabbath command was merely for "one day in seven" - that it did not have to be THE seventh day of the week, but merely the seventh part of time.
Certainly he could not have done this had the Sabbath been done away, or changed.

The Catholic Record, Sept. 1, 1923.
Now in the matter of Sabbath observance the Protestant rule of Faith is utterly unable to explain the substitution of the Christian Sunday for the Jewish Saturday.
Thus by the same Divine authority, in virtue of which she did away with the Jewish Sabbath and substituted therefor the Christian Sunday, the Catholic Church legislated as to how the Lord's Day should be observed.
Christians are all wrong in speaking of the Sabbath as Sunday." The Christians who so speak are "Bible Christians," those who make the Bible the sole rule of Faith; and the Bible is silent on Sunday observance, it speaks only of Sabbath observance.

Sabbath (witchcraft) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In Christian folklore, the Sabbath (also known as "Witch's Sabbath") was a gathering supposed to have been celebrated by Satanists, witches and warlocks to honor the Devil, offend God, Jesus, the sacraments, the cross, and perform unholy rites.
These coincidences suggest that the Sabbath may have been remnants or revivals of those old pagan religions, which naturally were seen with alarm by the dominant Christian.
It was believed that the Sabbath commenced at midnight and ended at dawn, beginning with a procession, continuing with a banquet, then a Black Mass, and culminating with an orgy in which non-marital or sexual intercourse with demons in male or female form was practised.

 Chapter V. Witchcraft.
The church declared the female sex had always been most concerned in the crime of christian witchcraft and as it was its aim to separate woman from all connection with its ordinances, it also asserted that the priestesses of antiquity held their high places by means of witchcraft.
The teaching of the church, as to the creation of women and the origin of evil, embodied the ordinary belief of the christian peoples, and that woman rather than man practiced this sin, was attributed by the church to her original sinful nature, which led her to disobey God's first command in Eden.
Although witchcraft was treated as a crime against the state, it was regarded as a greater sin against heaven, the bible having set its seal of disapproval in the injunction "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live." The church therefore claimed its control.

 HISTORY OF THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH*
The Christian Sabbath is the ancient Sabbath baptized with fire and the Holy Ghost, regenerated, spiritualized, and glorified.
But Christian martyrdom in general was regarded by the early church as a heavenly birth and a fruit of the earthly birth of Christ.
As to its essential idea and observance, it was born with the Christian Sunday on the morning of the resurrection.

 Is Sunday the Christian Sabbath?
Christians meet for worship on Sunday, not because it is the Sabbath of the ten Commandments, but because it is convenient.
Consequently, the day we all know as Sunday is referred to in the Bible as the "first day of the week." And so in our search to answer the question about Sunday being the Christian Sabbath, we will need to examine every Bible verse in which the "first day of the week" is mentioned.
Sunday observance, inshort is an "heirloom from heathenism," a pagan tradition which unlawfully entered the Christian Church centuries after the early Apostles died.

Satire on stage - The Heights - Arts & Review
At the end of Act I, protagonists Candide and Cunegonde, despite having been ravished repeatedly by a Jew and a Christian (the Jew on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Sabbaths, and the Christian on those days in between), have found their way back to each other.
More than a small part of this success was due to the unseen heroes of the night: the pit orchestra, the set and costume design, and the lighting team.
Headlining Boston College's sixth annual Arts Festival, Candide enjoyed 6 successful performances in Robsham Theater last week, much to the delight of the theatre department and the wider arts community.

It was not, however, an early Christian symbol and, indeed, the Sabbath-keeping Churches have traditionally been iconoclastic and have abhorred the use of the cross symbol as pagan.
The symbolism that arose from the cults was that of the cross, and the incidence of the propitiation of Hecate (Artemis, Rhea or the Mother Goddess) and Hermes at cross-roads was aimed specifically at the control of spirits of the dead.
Concerning the symbolism of crosses, of which the varieties are numerous, we shall confine ourselves to indicating that they depend upon the shape of their arms and the ‘rhythmic direction’ which these arms suggest (as in centrifugal, centripetal, neutral or rotary crosses).
