Christl Haas, (born September 19, 1943 at Kitzbühel, Austria - died July 8, 2001 at Antalya, Turkey) was an Alpine skiing Champion at the 1964 Winter Olympics.
Haas followed up her success at Innsbruck with a bronze medal at the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble, France.
As an Austrian gold medalist, Haas was selected with luger Josef Feistmantl to light the Olympic torch for the opening of the 1976 Winter Olympics on February 4, 1976.

Manavgat, Turkey (Tuesday, July 10, 2001) - Christl Haas, one of Austria's most successful ski racers, suffered a heart attack whilst swimming in the sea at Manavgat in Turkey and drowned yesterday.
In addition, she won World Championship gold in 1962 and silver in 1964 in the Combined.
Haas travelled to Turkey on Friday with her daughter, son-in-law and three grandchildren.
