		Christopher Street Day (CSD) has its origins in New York City, where on June 27, 1969, gays and lesbians resisted a brutal police raid at a club on Christopher St. The protest eventually led to further demonstrations calling for the rights of homosexuals and transsexuals.
		The first CSD in Germany took place in 1979 in Berlin, and since then celebrations have been held every year.
