  Dead Boys - Music Downloads - Online
Bio: The Dead Boys were one of the first punk bands to escalate the level of violence, nihilism, and pure ugliness of punk rock to extreme new levels.
Chrome and Blitz decided to enlist local singer Stiv Bators (aka Steve Bator), second guitarist Jimmy Zero (aka William Wilden), and bassist Jeff Magnum (aka Jeff Halmagy), and formed a new group more akin to their musical tastes and dubbed Frankenstein.
But at the insistence of their record company (who was trying to convince the band to soften up their sound a bit to produce a breakthrough hit), the group enlisted former Cream producer (and bassist for early-'70s Cream disciples Mountain) Felix Pappalardi.

Chrome Yellow sort of just developed over the course of a couple of years.
With the current line up, myself, Stayne, Chip Bennett, David Morales and Rich Wiles, the band has never been stronger and the new material is just better than ever.
I would have to say that although the band members each seem to draw from different influences, personally I like people like Lenny Kravitz and Bono from U2 because they will get you out of your seat and you cannot help but sing along.

One of the original forefathers in the industrial boom of the 1980s, Chrome's amalgam of distorted guitars and vocals, samples from TV, and a raw punk aesthetic (inspired by the Stooges) became much more popular in the early '90s than it ever was while the band was around in the '70s and '80s.
Chrome's sound wasn't quite fully formed by the time of their first album, The Visitation; it's surprisingly poppy with few hints of what was to come, though an obsession with science fiction made its debut.
Chrome jumped to the major label Beggar's Banquet/WEA in 1980 for third full-length Red Exposure, and the uncompromising sound was compromised slightly.

 TrouserPress.com :: Chrome
Under the innocuous name of Chrome, two San Franciscans — Damon Edge (vocals, synths, etc.) and Helios Creed (vocals, guitar, etc.), with part-time rhythm-section assistance by the Stench brothers of Pearl Harbor's band — created an often awesome series of pre-industrial LPs that explore a dark state of mind only hinted at by '60s psychedelia.
Though conventional song structures are preserved to the point where tracks can be distinguished (indeed, the duo's early efforts aren't all that far from semi-normal guitar rock), Chrome's strength is its ability to create sounds of horrible beauty that transcend discrete musical units.
Disinterring the Chrome moniker for a series of new albums released by Dossier in the second half of the '80s was not a wise move on Edge's part; the only possible benefit is that dozens of disaffected cyberpunks might be inspired to learn the phone number of their local Better Business Bureau.

They are essentially straight narrative accounts of the band's history, without any interviews or access to band members or band associates, lifting the story, with newly inserted errors, directly from established works such as Michael Azzerad's excellent biography 'Come As You Are'.
That said, unfortunately these fascinating video interviews shed very little new light on the band as most of the interviewees have already shared their (same) thoughts with other journalists who have subsequently written about the band.

 Detroit area rock 'n' roll bands/musicians 1966 - 1972
Flaming Ember always proudly declared themselves a Detroit band, comprised of players living in Detroit (within its city limits, not out in the 'burbs or even some other county) and as their assimilation of Motor City soul styles proved, many folks (of all colors) remain convinced the Flaming Ember were anything but four white guys.
The band managed to record an album in 1968 (produced by Tom Conner) and released from it a truly galvanizing (and very rare) single which explored both sides of the band.
A series of management misfortunes cost them opportunities and the band had begun recording what would have been their first album but the master tapes were destroyed in a fire at United Sound Studio in 1969, which seemed to sound the death knell for the group.
