The 350 (5.7 L) B engine had a bore of 4.0625 in (103 mm) and was only produced in 1958.
The 361 (5.9 L) B engine was similar to the 350 except for a wider 4.125 in (105 mm) bore.

 Chrysler Jet Car
The american company Chrysler was one of the first auto-makers to experiment with the gas-turbine engine as a method of powering regular road-going cars.
The large round section on most engines is the rotating regenerator, a device that transfers heat from the exhaust gases to the air about to enter the combustion chambers.
The engine in this vehicle was a simple single-stage radial compressor with two axial-flow hot-wheels, one driving the compressor and the other driving a reduction gearbox connected to the car's driveshaft.

Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth Minivans   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-26)
Chrysler didn't really have any choice but to use front-drive in its vans, but it produced a van that easily fit in garages that taller full-size vans couldn't enter — a 1984 Caravan was fully 15 inches shorter in stature than Dodge's then-current full-sizer, the Ram Wagon.
Chrysler may have had no choice but to use front-drive for its minivans, but it was the right choice and the competition, at least initially, failed to recognize that.
Forget the old box, the new Chrysler minivans were almost sleek in their appearance, with a composite nose that rose to meet an enormous windshield (32-percent bigger than before) that in turn transitioned in a graceful arc along the roof.

The engine is cooled by the surrounding air and by the compressed air that passes through it.
Forced lubrication is provided by a pump that uses the same oil to lubricate engine, transmission, accessory driver, and reduction gear; at the same time the pump also provides hydraulic pressure for power steering, transmission control, and variable nozzle control.

 DaimlerChrysler - Home - DaimlerChrysler at the 75. Geneva International Auto Show 2005 - Chrysler 300C SRT8 - ...
Although the Chrysler HEMI was born in the 1950s and entered into legend in the 1960s and ’70s, today’s version took much of its inspiration from the original - particularly the namesake hemispherical combustion chambers that provide power and efficiency.
When Chrysler Group’s Street and Racing Team (SRT) set out to develop a more powerful HEMI for the Chrysler 300C SRT8, they were mindful of the engine’s heritage, which led to adopting traditional HEMI engine cues such as an orangepainted cylinder block and fl valve covers.
Engine breathing was increased with new high-flow cylinder heads, a specially designed intake manifold, and exhaust “headers” with individual tubes encased in a stainless steel shell, all unique to the new Chrysler 300C SRT8’s 6.1-litre HEMI engine.

 Classic Fast Cars
Chrysler discontinued the sale of the Power Wagon in the United States after the 1968 model year because its almost 30 year old cab would not comply with new federal light-duty truck safety regulations, but they continued to be built for export through the 1978 model year.
An engine like this is said to have "hemispherical heads." In a HEMI head, the spark plug is normally located at the top of the combustion chamber, and the valves open on opposite sides of the combustion chamber.
Four-cylinder engines of this size had not usually been built due to inherent vibration, but Mitsubishi pioneered the use of balance shafts to help damp this out and the Challenger was one of the first vehicles to bring this technology to the American market; it has since been licensed to many other manufacturers.

However, when it comes to tuning, a blown engine does have specific needs, and how they are addressed will have much to do with the good news/bad news ratio.
The best way to adjust idle mixture is to connect a vacuum gauge to the engine and then adjust each mixture screw the same amount to achieve the highest possible vacuum reading.
When a non-supercharged engine is under a light load the vacuum will vary between 9 to 18 inches of vacuum, but under acceleration or other high-speed/high-load driving conditions, the vacuum will drop below 7 inches of vacuum, causing the carburetor's power system to supply the richer air/fuel mixtures needed for maximum power.

From 1951 on, the cars featured the hemi-head V-8 engine, which was not a brand-new invention, but had so much power and performance, combined with lower compression (allowing the car to run on lower-octane fuel than most postwar V-8s), that it was a huge hit.
In 1958, the engine was increased to 345-bhp standard, and soon thereafter to a big-bore 413 with 350-bhp in 1959.
In 1988, the engine was revised to a 3.0 litre, 136-bhp V-6 (microscopic by earlier standards) and all New Yorkers were based around the Chrysler C-body with front wheel drive.
