Plymouth Satellite - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Satellite always used Chrysler's mid-size B platform.
When a new, larger Plymouth Fury was introduced for 1965 on Chrysler's full-size C platform, the Plymouth Belvedere name was moved to Plymouth's "new" mid-size line for 1965, in what was really a continuation of Plymouth's full-size 1962 to 1964 models.
Two door models had an unusual loop type front bumper (a period Chrysler styling trend), and this body was the basis for the related GTX and Road Runner models.

The logo was revived for the Chrysler divisions in the mid-1990s, and was surrounded by a pair of silver wings after the Daimler-Benz merger in 1998.
Then Chrysler head, Lynn Townsend, was looking for a symbol that could be used by all divisions, on packaging, stationery, signage, advertising, etc. He wanted something that would be universally recognizable as "Chrysler" to anyone who saw it, from any perspective, from any culture.
In 1928 Chrysler founded the Plymouth brand at the low end, the DeSoto brand at the low-medium end and purchased the Dodge Brothers automobile company; all of this was in order to set up a full range of brands similar to that of the General Motors corporation.

The use of these parts gave Chrysler the car they were looking for: a sporty image, a challenge to the Corvette, and it didn’t break the bank.
The standard hemi for the 300 B was rated for 340 HP, while the optional engine, with the aid of 10:1 compression raise output to 355 HP.
Chrysler did not race the 300 in the Grand National circuit this year, but it again won “The Flying Mile” at Daytona, making it the fastest American car for the third straight year.

Internationally, Chrysler PT Cruiser will reflect the individualism of consumers who are looking for a vehicle that is efficient for their daily transportation, while offering flexibility for their weekend and holiday travel requirements.
The Chrysler winged medallion is featured prominently on the front, and is also incorporated into the rear door latch as a final exclamation to the unconventional soul of the Chrysler brand.
Chrysler engineers also reinforced the front wheel wells so more of the force from a frontal crash is routed through the tyres to the sills - and less targets the passenger compartment.

Comments: The 1961 Chrysler 300 G saw a major exterior redesign that sported an inverted grille shape, redesigned headlights, and the relocation of the taillights from the fins to above the rear bumper.
Comments: Chrysler simplified its lineup for the new 300 J (there was no 300 I - perhaps they felt the "I" would be confused with "1").
But this wasn't enough as Chrysler decided to cancel plans for a 300 M (although they would use the name on a completely different car almost 35 years later).

Excluding 4WD truck and some van "shorty" transmissions, the world of Chrysler passenger car transmissions can be divided into the ranks of "long tailshaft" and "short tailshaft" transmissions.
In addition to a length issue, for each of the three families of engines Chrysler produced, there were three seperate bellhousing bolt patterns.
Some truck bellhousings were built to accept multiple engine applications, but for the most part Chrysler built different bellhousings for different engines.

At Chrysler, the A body spawned the Valiant, Dart, Duster, Demon, Swinger, and Barracuda, and that was just in the United States; the B body was equally prolific (as were their General Motors and Ford counterparts).
The Chrysler 300M is one of the best examples of the American tradition of "brand engineering." Though it shares a platform with the family-oriented Chrysler Concorde and the luxury-oriented Chrysler LHS, thanks to a strong engine and suspension tuning, it manages to have a completely different personality.
The headlights were far better than on previous Chrysler models, and the foglights were clearly designed by engineers: they were placed low and focused so they could actually penetrate fog, rather than other drivers.

Chrysler used political influences to avoid having to issue a recall, burned all videotapes and written reports of crash tests involving impacts like the one Sergio's family's minivan was involved in, purged all computer codes showing component failures in those tests and destroyed computer data.

While being a member of the DSM (Diamond Star Motors) famous line in the 1990's, this Chrysler coupe was purchased by Mitsubishi and is outfitted with the same engine as the Galant.
All in all, the Chrysler Sebring provides ample power and is definitely not an engine that is designed just to take you from point A to point B. Its speed is even more delightful with the mileage of a practical automobile.

The fundamental change necessary to apply the 3.3-liter, overhead valve, V-6 engine to the LH platform was strategic -- turning it from the transverse "east-west" mounting of this same engine in certain other Chrysler passenger cars.
Chrysler recognized the problem and beefed up the rocker tower casting in the later model years.
