  Chuadanga District - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Chuadanga was separated from Kushtia and given the status of a district in 1984.
The district consists of 4 municipalities, 36 wards, 93 mahallas, 4 upazilas, 31 union parishads, 421 mouzas and 514 villages.
The population of the district was 987,382 during the 2001 national survey with 50.82% male and female 49.18% compositions.

CHUADANGA, Jan 14:- Chua-danga district administration and Chuadanga district unit of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BRCS) has distributed 700 blankets among the destitute and poor people of four upazilas of the district.
Of the total blankets, 500 were distributed by Chuadanga district administration and the rest 200 by the Red Crescent Society, Chuadanga unit, reports BSS.

The grim situation in nearby Meherpur district was compounded after the flooding forced around 3,000 Indians to flee across the border into Bangladesh in search of food and shelter.

The people f the district were in jubilant mood at the defeat of the Pak army and the liberation of the district.
Later several times BSSSP and district command of the Muktijoddha Sangsad urged the divisional and district administrations to construct a memorial monument there in memory of the martyrs of the great liberation war and declare the place as mss grave yard of the martyr.

CHUADANGA, June 6:—The Public Health in all the four Upazilas of the district like Chuadanga Sadar, Alamdanga, Damurhuda and Jibannagar is being threatened due to increasing arsenic contamination in ground water, reports BSS.
According to Chuadanga District Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) sources, water of over 30 per cent tubewells in four upazilas is more or less arsenic contaminated.
The PHED of the district has earlier tested over 1400 hand driven tubewells here, of which, 583 are government hand driven tubewells and 834 private hand pump tubewells.

In a recent study (April, 1997) of IMPACT Foundation Bangladesh in Chuadanga district to find-out the workable strategy for implementing "The Comprehensive Primary Health Care Project for Prevention and Cure of Avoidable Disability", one of the findings is: "7% of the total population (1 million) of the district are disabled".
With this strong hypothesis, IMPACT Foundation Bangladesh conducted a survey in four Thanas (sub-district) of Chuadanga district of Bangladesh.
The general assumption of this study was that there is a strong relationship between poverty and disability, prevention of disability and alleviation of poverty.
