Black Flag (band) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dukowski's intelligent, fast-talking, high-energy persona attracted significant attention, and he was often Black Flag's spokesman to the press.
Dukowski acted as the group's tour manager even after he no longer performed with them, and he was probably as important as Ginn in establishing the group's DIY aesthetic and demanding work ethic.
Dukowski was a powerful player, but Roessler brought a level of sophistication and finesse to match Ginn's increasingly ambitious music, without sacrificing any of the visceral impact required for punk rock.

Citizine Interview - Chuck Dukowski of Black Flag (CD6 Sextet)
Chuck Dukowski (AKA Gary McDaniel) played bass for Black Flag during the key early years of the band and he was known for an aggressive "lead bass" style of playing.
In late 1983, Kira Roessler replaced Chuck on bass, and he moved over to the business end of SST Records, setting up tours and promoting bands on the label.
No longer working at SST, Chuck settled down for a few years in Venice, Calif., with the wife and kids, but he is now returning to the public arena with his new band, the Chuck Dukowski Sextet.

Rise Above: 24 Black Flag Songs to Benefit the West Memphis Three CD by Mike Patton - Ap0s7le   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-09-07)
For the cause of fundraising for the defense of a trio of legally bound Arkansas headbangers--one of whom is currently on death row on the basis of hearsay testimony--Henry Rollins has resurrected the sacrosanct songs of his legendary former Los Angeles hardcore band Black Flag.
Motorhead leader Lemmy's ripping version of "Thirsty and Miserable" is a stunning highlight, as is Hank Williams III's psychotic "No Values." Former Flag singers Keith Morris and Chuck Dukowski bring their veteran intensity, and Rollins himself shouts "My War," "TV Party," "Black Coffee," "Annihilate This Week," "Slip It In," and the title track.
You can't get much better than this with Henry Rollins being joined by Black Flag alums like Chuck Dukowski and Keith Morris, as well as Hank Williams III (the best REAL country musician working today), Lemmy from Motorhead, Exene from X, Ryan Adams, Tom from Slayer, Nick from Mondo Generator, and plenty more.
