Klein was elected to the Hall of Fame by the Veterans Committee in 1980.
Klein, who also led the National League in total bases, hits, slugging, doubles, was second in runs, and 4th in steals, is the only player to be traded after a Triple Crown season.

Klein played on non-championship teams for the Phillies, Cubs, and Pirates thus suppressing the quantities of autographs requested during his career.
Chuck Klein began his given name with an ornate "C" followed by a signature break and a high ascender forming the large "h." The "uck" were often downsized to round out his nickname which was encapsulated by quotation marks.

Chuck Klein, whose nickname came from a popular baseball player of his youth, has been in the forefront of what is now called astrobiology since the 1960s.
A specialist in microbial physiology, Klein received a B.A. in chemistry from Brooklyn College (1942) and a Ph.D. in bacteriology from the University of California (1950).
Until his retirement from NASA in June of 1984, Klein was Director of Life Sciences at the Ames Research Center, where he was responsible for research and development activities ranging from the origin and distribution of life in the universe to biomedical research and aviation safety.

Klein was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, and was known as the "Hoosier Hammer." He was one of the most prodigious sluggers of the late 1920s and early 1930s.
Klein was the top hitter in Phillies' history until the arrival of Hall of Famer Mike Schmidt.
Unlike most sluggers, Klein was a competent baserunner, topping the senior circuit in 1932 in stolen bases and had 15 triples, good for third in the league.

But when you look at Klein's big numbers, you need to remember that his home ballpark, the Baker Bowl, was perhaps the best hitter's park of the 20th century until the creation of the Colorado Rockies in 1993.

Klein drove in 693 runs from 1929-33 and hit.359, he also scored 658 runs touched off 180 HR and threw in 232 doubles and 46 triples in for good measure.
The Baker Bowl was a great place to hit, but Chuck Klein was, for five years, one hell of a ballplayer.
