We Care a Lot - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Originally distributed through Canadian label Mordam Records, it fell by the wayside and went largely unacknowledged until its reissue a decade later (even the sleeve notes for the band's subsequent Slash releases refer to 1987's Introduce Yourself as their debut LP).
This album features the band's original line-up of Mike Bordin on drums, Roddy Bottum on keyboards, Billy Gould on bass, Jim Martin on guitar and Chuck Mosely on vocals.
In 1996 it was reissued on CD and vinyl in the UK and Japan with slightly modified artwork.

Chuck Mosely - Free Music Downloads, Videos, CDs, MP3s, Bio, Merchandise and Links
After a pair of albums created a buzz in the alternative rock underground (1985's We Care a Lot and 1987's Introduce Yourself), Mosely found himself at odds with his bandmates due to unpredictable behavior both on and off the stage, which led to his ousting from the band in 1988.
Early in the '90s, Mosely joined up with Washington, D.C., hardcore icons the Bad Brains, but before anything could be recorded by the Mosely led lineup, the singer bailed (complaining that the group wanted him to sound too much like their previous singer, H.R.).
Mosely then formed another group, Cement, a quartet that issued a pair of albums, 1993's self-titled release and 1994's Man With the Action Hair, before splitting as well.

Chuck Mosely, who handled the vocals for the first two full length albums, was hardly capable or even remotely talented but he exerted enough attitude and character to actually make it work.
Mosely was often amusingly self-conscious of his lack of real ability as the lyrics of "Greed" note:
Singer Chuck Mosely was truly not very gifted in anything except enthusiasm, so a possible turnoff for those familiar with Mike Patton-era FNM are his off-key vocals.

Faith No More were the exception, a funk-rock hybrid that may have taken its cues from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but made vastly better records than that band, even if the RHCP''s became a monstrous monolith in terms of popularity.
Beginning with frontman Chuck Mosely (their brief spell with Courtney Love as singer was either unrecorded or left off), FNM started life as a kind of metalloid Camper Van Beethoven, mixing up off beat styles and employing collegiate yuks and giggles for lyrics.
But with their great singles "We Care a Lot" and "Epic" (with Mike Patton as singer) as radio fare, they easily eclipsed their LA rivals--not only can Patton sing and Mosely rap, the songs have melodies and great choruses.

 Faith No More
At least three of the band members - the keyboard player, the guitarist, and the Mosely guy - appear to be highly motivated, and by pooling their different backgrounds and interests come out with some real fresh stuff.
And over all this, Chuck Mosely growls, screams, recites, or raps the lyrics in a not particularly unique, but at least energetic manner; lyrics that, for most of the time, are hip, smart, sarcastic, post-modern, and undisclosing (in terms of soul, that is).
It may have something to do with the poor choice of Mosely as lead vocalist - it's not that his singing is ugly or anything (it is, but frankly I don't hold it against him), it's just that it could give you a clue as to Faith No More's basic goals, and instead it doesn't.

This well-selected 2003 collection presents a concise overview of the group's output, from early tracks featuring Chuck Mosely, a hopelessly off-key--but admirably energetic--singer (nicely showcased on the rambunctious hit "We Care a Lot"), to the group's heyday with the mercurial frontman Mike Patton.
Starting with the revved-up "From Out of Nowhere" and the genre-hopping, omnipresent hit "Epic," THIS IS IT focuses on the band's Patton years, moving into the more aggressive and experimental territory of '92's ANGEL DUST (the seething "Midlife Crisis") and on to later albums, throwing in a few rarities for good measure.
