Considering that Gothamist can't remember a day when WNBC anchors Chuck Scarborough and Sue Simmons weren't anchoring the evening news, it shouldn't come as a suprise that they are celebrating their 25th anniversary of working together.
Scarborough has been at WNBC for 30 years, while today is Simmons' 25th anniversary (check out her slide show).
But these days, she and Chuck are my favorites, though I remember a long stretch of time when I watched Ernie Anastos and Michelle Marsh on CBS 2 (my parents decided the newscasts in the family).

A woman who says she tripped over his dog in a store on Manhattan’s Upper East Side and was hurt is suing a news anchor for the local NBC news station in New York.
According to the lawyer for 82-year-old Rose Kaplan, Richard Bronstein, the elderly woman is still in pain from the incident on October 17th.
The dog reportedly was on a leash held by Scarborough’s wife, who was also named as a defendant.

Yea Chuck Scarborough also took a NY job, after he left Channel 7.
If I remember correctly, Scarborough had a very rocky relationship with Channel 7 - I think they resorted to suspending him once or twice (someone correct me if I wrong).

The NY governor has, in the book at least, wanted for years to cut off all support for the city.
Perhaps this was true in real life as well; Scarborough would certainly be in a position to know.
But it is never explained to the readers in the rest of the country why he wants to cut it off, why he wants to fund rescue only so much as to evacuate the city and not rebuild at all.

Ok, so friday i went on a field trip to NYC to go visit NBC studios and meet the six o'clock news anchor Chuck Scarborough.
ok, so thats the first awesome part of the trip....so we go in the studio and Len Berman and Sue Simmons are like 15 feet away from us doing the end of their newscast, and across the room Chuck Scarborough and his co-anchor are sitting at their desk getting ready.
and Chuck was like "Yeah that was him, sorry" and he said he was going to take us on a tour...and as the rest of the group began walking i stood there watching my dreams walk down a hallway away from me.
