 NRA-ILA :: Articles
Schumer`s office released what the media called a "Congressional study" which he claimed showed a flow of guns from states with "weak" laws to states with "strong laws." The assertion that some states have weak gun laws and others have strong laws is patently false.
Schumer`s "gunrunner" drives to New York City and transfers the guns to his drug dealer "customers," knowing that they will be used in crimes of violence involving the drug trade.
Chuck Schumer knows the truth, but he also knows that if current Federal laws were enforced, and if the public knew that there were such laws, the call for gun control would be pointless.

 SCHUMER TAKES ON POWERFUL ETHANOL LOBBY TO KEEP NY GAS PRICES IN CHECK
Schumer said the mandate would undermine the bill's anti-pollution goals by requiring refiners to use ethanol which has a chemical makeup similar to MTBE and by limiting legal actions against the ethanol producers and distributors if that product is found to be defective.
Schumer said the ethanol mandate will also reduce highway and mass transit funding since refiners would be using a larger amount of ethanol in formulating their gasoline which means that gas tax revenues would decrease because ethanol gets a 53 cent/gallon gas tax break or subsidy.
Schumer said it would be irresponsible to give the producers and distributors of ethanol a free ride before fully knowing how the additive would affect the environment.

 Byron York on Judicial Nominations on National Review Online
Before the hearing, held Thursday in the Judiciary Committee's subcommittee on the courts, the best Republican guess was that Schumer wanted to divert attention from GOP events marking the one-year anniversary of President Bush's first judicial nominations.
Schumer's allegations aside, it is unlikely that any of the nominations died because of a high-level conspiracy — real-world politics would be a much better explanation.
What disturbs Republicans are the nominees — for example, the president's choices for the appeals court in the District of Columbia, which has no home-state senators and therefore no potential blue-slip problems — who are being held up for reasons that are not fully clear.

Schumer attempted to paint Hatch as either too weak minded to resist this mythical “hard, hard, hard right” or as one of them and, therefore, out to do just what Schumer is doing; lie to gain power.
